Celebrating midsummer

Friday morning we went out to a small Island to celebrate midsummer eve with some friends. To get there you need a small boat and there are no cars on the island, only a lot of old mopeds and motorcycles with four wheels with trailer to transport all the baggage and even some people.

We were about 12 persons at our friends summer cottage, both adults and children, rising a midsummer pole and dancing "little frogs dance" around it together with the other people at the island.

After that it was time for eating traditional midsummer food and have some snaps and drinking songs with that. We also have this tradition among our friends to play football (soccer) later that day and I just took a lot of photos of it instead of trying to play. Last time I tried to play the others almost rolled on the ground laughing at my, what they called, "Kung-fu techniques" at the football field. I didn't play football (soccer) as a kid you know. Maybe next time.

There were also going on some Dart and the Swedish traditional game Kubb when you put a lot of wooden bricks all over the garden in a specific pattern and try to knock the other teams wooden bricks down by throwing some smaller wooden sticks on them.

We stayed to the day after and had a nice time in the sun before our friend took us back to the main land again with his boat.

There was also some training this weekend. Saturday we did some Koryu Uchinadi practicing and I also did some Nunchaku training, and Sunday there was some Bo practicing and Koryu Uchinadi. I'm now struggeling with the KU Kihon Uke Waza Solo practice and have tried the level #1 and #2 and need to practice that a while before trying the next level. I also keep practicing the other Futari Geikos and Solos.
